Interesting, thank you for that insight.
Do you have your target eBay site set to Australia, here on Gixen?
I wonder if this error can be detected by Gixen and when it occurs change the server that is used for that account to log in. That said, if it is an eBay fault perhaps we should just let them sort it out rather than trying to find work arounds here.

Just happened to me as well (another Aussie user).
I then logged into ebay.com.au and got the same message - so obviously this is an ebay Australia issue - not a Gixen issue !!
Happy sniping ! :D

I guess you are using a machine running Windows (since you were talking about using IE), maybe you might be more successful using the new desktop manager for Windows as mentioned here:

I must admit I am at a loss, I'm sorry.
I do know there are many other Gixen users in Australia, and they haven't seemed to have the same problems as you are experiencing.
Hopefully someone else will have a better idea than I can come up with.

Right.....
Could the problem exist because I live in Brisbane Australia (GMT+10.00) and our times are different?
I tried, once again, to log in and it worked.
When I looked at my post from last night I noticed that I was able to log in at 3.07am (your time). If my calculations are right, this post will also be just after 3.00am (your time).
Is there any way that our time difference could be keeping me logged out?

Yes. Those settings are selected in privacy tab. When I show cookies, the following are listed under gixen.com
_utmb
_utmz
_utmc
_utma
phpbb2mysql_sid
phpbb2mysql_data
sessionid
I have adjusted the time and date backwards and forwards a couple of days and minutes. I've syncronised with time.windows.com.
I can't think of anything else to check.

As Mario mentioned before it is worth making sure that your PC has the correct date and time set.
In Firefox, the options that I have selected for Cookies under the menu option Tools->Options, selecting the Privacy tab are:
Accept cookies from sites
Accept third party cookies
Keep Until: they expire
.. thats probably not the only combination that will work, but it works for me.

Aahhhggg!!! That's it... I've had enough...
I have tried everything again. But, instead of installing IE, I've given in and installed Firefox.
Still keep getting redirected to the page saying cookies are disabled. I don't know what to try next.

Something is probably wrong with your browser. :-(
With IE it can certainly be a nightmare, as there is no easy way to re-install it.

Have no idea what caused it... Did you adjust date/time in the meantime? That can sometimes cause problems.

OK... I must have tried to log in 50 times over the last 2 days.
Immediately after I posted this, I try again, and guess what.... It worked.
I must have a gremlin... :?:

Post subject: Can't log in
I've been using Gixen for a couple of weeks now but have been trying to log in for a coiuple of days without success. Each time I attempt to log in I get redirected back to a page saying "Cookies are disabled in your browser. Gixen requires cookies in order to store session id after you log in............."
I've done everything I can think of. ie enabled all cookies, overrode automatic cookie settings, accepted gixen.com site, turned off firewall, disabled anti virus, reset IE8, uninstalled & reinstalled IE8. But nothing seems to work. I would really prefer to continue using IE and not change over to Firefox.
I'm still able to log into Ebay without a problem. I haven't changed my username or password.
Is there something else I can try?
