Yes, you have missed the fact that your Gixen id and your Ebay id are now completely different things. It is advisable, (though obviously cannot be enforced) that you use different credentials for your Gixen id than you do for your Ebay one. This is one of the reasons why the requirements are quite deliberately different here from those on Ebay. The thing that now allows Gixen to bid for you is that you authorise Gixen to act on your behalf on Ebay. That is part of the setup procedure of a new Gixen id, but if you change your password on Ebay you can redo that using the 'Re-authorize Gixen on your eBay account' link near the top of the Settings page. Gixen no longer requires any knowledge, at all, of your Ebay password.
Post subject: Conflicting password rules - ebay & Gixen
Recently reset my eBay password & it now requires special characters. Gixen does not allow special characters to be used.
Seems the Gixen is now unusable to anyone who changes an ebay password and has to confirm to the new passwords standards. Understand Gixen & ebay username & password must match, to enable Gixen to sign into ebay for snipes.
Have I missed something?
