This debate has been ongoing since automated sniping was first implemented and is already well covered here on this forum. Personally, I prefer slightly larger offsets because of the bid increment rule which means that when there are similar snipe amounts being submitted it's actually more likely that an earlier bid will block later ones. The fact that offset is an option is the best indication that there is no consensus on what is best, and that's why it's enabled for users to make a personal choice on this on a snipe by snipe basis. It's not controversial to assert that different scenarios of bidding the same amount can give different outcomes dependent on when bids are placed.
Post subject: Sniping timings
What are the recommended times for sniping and mirroring?
I know 6 is default but on other apps itâs 4 so ideally I would bring the timing down to 4 in case there are other snipers in place.
Are there any stats on percentage of successful bids placed at the different increments. ie at 3 seconds 98% of bids are successfully placed (not saying won, just placed with eBay)
Also should the mirror and main sniper have the same timing or be staggered.
Any advice would be appreciated
