If your bid had been acceptable to Ebay it still would not have won since there was an earlier bid (27 Feb) placed of the same amount and in that case the earlier bid is the winner. In this case your bid was even below the auction price when Gixen came to place the bid so was rejected by Ebay. The 'ASKING PRICE' is the current auction price plus one bid increment, it is always above the auction price or is the starting price when no bids have been placed. So in this case that would have been GBP 310 for any snipe with an offset lower than 7 seconds, since it was 7 seconds before the auction end that the winning bid was accepted. Gixen provides that status for any bid rejected below the asking price and your maximum bid of GBP 295 was GBP 15 below that asking price. For further explanation, there is already a blog on this topic: https://www.gixen.com/blog/ebay-bid-increments/
Post subject: Gixen did not work
Item: 384750747085
Title: Taylor GS Mini Acoustic Guitar W/Gig Bag
Seller: elzo_6446
Status (main): BID UNDER ASKING PRICE
Your maximum bid: 295.00
Current price: 300.00
OK - I see it now, another bid was the same amount as mine but took priority.
Incidentally, is this comment correct? BID UNDER ASKING PRICE
As in reality my bid was under the current bid rather than asking price.
Thanks
