I agree this needs further investigation. If Ebay are going to start publishing end times 45 seconds earlier than they actually do close the auction they at least need to be open and honest about it.
The evidence here:
https://www.ebay.com/bfl/viewbids/136222919319
is that Ebay were still accepting bids 36 seconds after Gixen placed its bid.
So, either Ebay provided Gixen with an incorrect end time, or Ebay extended that time, perhaps related to
this
?
Either way, this is now starting to cost Gixen users real money, and Ebay is one of the beneficiaries of that... so, yes, I do think Ebay needs to provide a full and open explanation.

I just followed one auction as it executed and there is no doubt the bid is placed just when it should be. eBay, however, shows wrong times in the bid history.
I will contact eBay about this problem. I guarantee you, however, that your bid is placed on time.

I placed a bid of $20.56 on item # 136208210348.
The bid offset is at the default 6 seconds, so why was the bid placed so early at 50 seconds before the end of the auction?
I had the same issue earlier today with item #136222919319, although my offset was 3s.
Additionally, Ebay''s bidding history shows 6 bids from two different other bidders in response to supposed automatic/proxy bids being placed on my behalf by Ebay. This continued until 13s before the auction ended when one of the other bidders presumably gave up bidding. I still won the auction (only just), but for significantly more based on Ebay''s bidding history.
Can you investigate please Mario? Thank you.

It wasn't, it was placed exactly 5 seconds before auction end, however eBay shows it differently, so this looks like a bug on their side. I noticed this a few more times. I assure you that this bid was placed exactly on time.
It's interesting that the bid history shows another bid placed 3 seconds after yours, and then nothing until the end, whole 40 seconds or so. This almost never happens.

Post subject: Gixen bid placed 50 seconds before the end of the auction?
I placed a bid of $20.56 on item # 136208210348.
The timestamp for Gixen's bid was at
30 Jul 2025 at 8:12:43pm PDT
but the end of the auction was at
8:13:33pm PDT.
The bid offset is at the default 6 seconds, so why was the bid placed so early at 50 seconds before the end of the auction?
