I realise that I'm not answering your point directly any more, but have you tried moving the input fields from the bottom to the top of the page using the 'Input fields position' option on the Settings page (assuming that you have an active subscription). That makes it much easier to see if and when there are any errors reported.

Ok, thanks. I've entered the sad phase now, angry is gone...
How about preventing a new snipe
or the altering of an old one until the reauth is done?
Something really in your face basically.
Yes, I probably should have seen it but that's rushing for you..
Personally, I don't hang around at the top of a webpage when I know the bit I want is at the bottom..

I am sorry for your loss.
Obviously, no-one can do anything about this one. :-(
What I've done is set a reminder, once a year, to reset this, and since Ebay don't automatically revoke it for 18 months, that's enough to keep on top of it.
Yes, emails are used for some things, however unfortunately they're not the panacea you might hope for. Spam filters and people changing where they want to communicate from, tend to severely reduce the effective reach especially when compared to the effort involved in maintaining them.

I just use the website on my phone and swipe down to the item I'm interested in.
Yes I just saw a warning at the top and reauthourised, I guess I missed it by scrolling down quickly.
I think there's an argument for an email or something a bit more shouty because this just cost me more than words can say.
I am devastated.

What interface are you using to schedule and maintain your snipes ?
There are warnings on the snipes page here, for 10 days before the expiry, which should cover all the time you can schedule a snipe for an auction, where it could be invalid.
Unless it is because Ebay revoked it due to a change of credentials (password/username)... Unfortunately they don't inform third parties about that, so users do have to remember to do it when ever they change those on Ebay.

Post subject: INVALID AUTHORIZATION - No WARNING!!!!!
I just missed out on a once in 20 years (if ever) item I desperately needed due to INVALID AUTHORIZATION.
I could weep, honestly, utterly heartbroken and no warning of any kind.
This has to be where we part company after many many years.
