hi, want to try gixen out but want to confirm that if i already have started bidding on an item with a max bid of 102.00 then if place gixen max bid of 133.00, if bidding ends at lower than 102.00 then i will win with my previous max bid and gixen will not bid against the 102.00 max bid. hope this makes sense
So long as you set the snipe on the same eBay id as you are already bidding then you will be OK.
Gixen will submit your higher bid at the end of the auction, but the way eBay works the auction price will not be raised by the extra bid unless it is required in order to increase you chance of winning... i.e. someone else places a bid above your previous maximum.
That said I wouldn't generally recommend a strategy of bidding on an item and setting a snipe if you want to win at the lowest cost. There are some specific reasons why you might want to do it, like removing BIN options from the auction or checking that you are permitted to bid at all, but as I say generally it is not the best strategy.
