This happened because someone else bid exactly $75 and placed their bid earlier than you did. When that happens, eBay declares the earlier bid the winning bid.

Post subject: Please help! What happened to my bid?!
Yesterday I set up a bid for a Nixon watch, and put my max bid at 75 dollars. I am told that I am outbid, but by the exact same price as my maximum bid. Can someone please enlighten me as to how this would have happened? Thanks in advance!
