Perhaps you do not have write access to the working directory while the application is running. That's needed to save the password on your local disc.

The forum is open to any poster whether they have registered with Gixen or not, that is deliberate and by design... accordingly posts are not associated with Gixen ids, and hence there are no active notifications on any posts.

I believe the only way to change the Gixen credentials that you use in the Desktop Manager is via the 'Settings->Username and Password' option...
Is that what you are saying is not having the desired outcome ?
If so, do you have the 'Remember my login' option selected, or not ?
I solved this by deselecting the 'Remember my login' option, which I did have selected. Instead of typing in my password, which didn't seem to be working, I cut and pasted EXACTLY the same password from my browser's password list for the Gixen website which was working
Note that I Know for a fact that I HAD been typing exactly the same password. Who knows. Anyway that's my story and I'm sticking by it LOL

Post subject: Gixen desktop not working
I lost track of my user name and password yesterday, went through the procedure to recoup name and changed password. It worked on my desktop app late yesterday, but today I'm receiving the message: \"Error. Could not get user country using default\" then I hit the \"OK\" button and get another message \"ERROR (101) COULD NOT LOG IN\" again press \"OK\" button, the desktop standalone then opens with the message \"Could not get item list. Api returned: ERROR (101) COULD NOT LOG IN\". Again press \"OK\" button, Went through this last process a 2nd time, but nothing appears in the window. I tried to manually enter my user name and password, but still nothing I AM able to sign in and see my auctions online, same User name and password.
