Gixen does not take any account of how many bids have been placed, so yes, it bids as usual on auctions that have no bids.
That said if you had already bid, and placed another snipe with Gixen, and there were no other bidders, then the price would not rise on eBay, only bids from different eBay ids raise the price.
So I'm a little confused if you won at a single increment above your first bid, unless you used different eBay ids?

Post subject: Does Gixen work if ebay site shows "0 bids"?
Greetings, I've been using Gixen for several weeks and it has helped me acquire items that I would have lost just bidding on ebay alone. My question is: I recently was highest bidder on an item listed at $5.99 with 0 bids and an hour+ remaining on the auction time when I entered the fray. I entered a slightly higher bid in Gixen, then started worrying about the "0 bids" shown on ebay. I entered a $5.99 bid on ebay, thinking Gixen would have to have a minimum show to bid against. Did I just cost myself an extra $0.50 to get this item (it sold for $6.49)?
I apologize if you've answered this before, but I waded thru several pages of forum support questions and didn't find my specific question. Just asking, so I will know next time? thanxs. dwm
