Everyone should be using their Gixen account credentials to interact with Gixen not their Ebay ones.

Because of the way the information is passed to the Gixen servers it is possible that the use of certain special characters might have an affect. So an indication as to the sort of special characters in use might help with a resolution.

Also, do special characters make a difference? If so, perhaps that is causing the app to no longer work?

Still not working for me. GeoffP - did you do something to fix the problem?

Btw, just to confirm, the Chrome app setting should have your EBAY account information (NOT your gixen account information), correct?

I login into the gixen site with different account information than my eBay login.

Similar to GMann, I am getting the following error: "Password is not a match. Could not log you in (5)."

I had changed my eBay PW a few months so, so what I had tried to do was make sure the Chrome extension options matched.

I also tried to Unlink and Relink my eBay account through the Gixen settings page.

None of that seems to work. Unlike GMann, I'm using Chrome (not FireFox).

To my knowledge the password was correct. I couldn't see it but the number of dots correlated to the number of characters in my password.

I went ahead and logged out using the button in the window. Closed the window. Clicked on the Add To Gixen button in the auction. Then manually entered my password, overwriting the pre-filled password. Entered my bid and it worked.

If it was the wrong password somehow it changed on it's own as I never changed it or manually entered it until today. It was always pre-filled and never caused an issue.

Hopefully manually re-entering the password has permanently solved the problem.

I see the screenshots. Are you sure you are entering the correct password? Open another tab in the same browser and log in to Gixen. Add-on will then not ask for password. If unable to log in, reset your Gixen password, use https://www.gixen.com/forgotpassword.php

I tried sending them directly to Mario but every message I send to that email address refuses to leave my outbox.

You can post links without the http(s), they won't be clickable but most here know how to cut and pate urls within their browser.

Alternatively you can send them direct to Mario, as he requested, at the support email address given on the Contact tab above.

Still having the problem. I have screenshots. How do I post them here? I tried using the [img] tag and it said "https" is on the list of spam-related words, even though that is how the Insert Image button instructs.

Same problem, still have it. Cannot use the add to gixen extension, but can use the web site. Same with both my (paid) Gixen accounts.

Same error for me if I use the Chrome addon. It does not accepts password, even if I try to enter it manually. Extension works only if I log in in a normal browser window before adding a bid in extension.

No. On the bid screen the username and password fields are filled out, just as it always was, but when you submit the bid the error message is displayed and nothing else.

When that message is displayed, are you given an option to enter username and password and log in?

It's working if you are logged in. If not, there is an error message: "Password is not a match. Could not log you in"

Thank you for the response - please give me a few hours, I am looking further into this. There were indeed some changes yesterday, need to see why and how they broke this functionality.

For the record, I can add snipes through the gixen desktop manager windows program just fine. Havent changed any windows app settings. I havent tried adding via the gixen.com website but I assume that is working fine.

Using chrome browser extension. Can't add any snipes. "Password is not a match. Could not log you in.". I never changed my password, and I can log into gixen.com website manually just fine using my password. I put in my password again in the chrome extension, didnt fix. Chrome extension version is 2020.8.29

PostPosted: Fri Oct 16, 2020 9:45 pm    Post subject: Add To Gixen feature keeps asking for password

Every time I try to submit a bid using the 'Add To Gixen' button on an Ebay auction page I get the message: "You have to specify password", even though I am logged in. The Autosnipe window says I am logged in and there is no place to enter a password. I tried logging out and logging back in but the problem persists. I now have to manually enter a bid on the Gixen page.

This just started a few hours ago.
