Appreciate that.. you also should acknowledge that in order to take this forward Mario needs all the specific and relevant information that can then be passed on to Ebay, which is where the issue really lies and the only place it could possibly get fixed... Unfortunately, from past experience, their timescales to fix (or even acknowledge) issues like this tend to be quite long, so please don't expect any change or feedback about it, for many months. You might want to also suggest to stuartg45_0 that they file a support request with Ebay.co.uk, since it's them that has been inconvenienced by their fault as much as you have. |

| Very aggressive reply! It's an IDENTICAL listing to the one Gixen placed a bid on with IDENTICAL postage conditions. I thought it may be more useful to see a live listing. The original item number is 156593889198 I have not rushed to post this on a whim, it has happened 5 or more times in the last 6 months, so not very often, but it does happen. I just thought it would be nice to inform of a possible bug... | |

| Thankyou for the reply. The item 156616756540 on ebay UK is a relisting of an item that I inadvertently added to Gixen to auto-bid on. (Which it did and I won and then the seller kindly cancelled the sale) It's impossible for me to manually place a bid on that item because my postal code is excluded. | |

Is not actually true. If a seller specifically excludes your postal area then Ebay will block the bid from being placed, so even though Gixen will try to place it, it will never end up as an accepted Ebay bid. In that case you end up with an error status after the auction has completed, there isn't a check on Gixen for your area being specifically excluded from bidding due to its delivery address, you do need to check that yourself. Many/most users won't even find such items in the first place, because Ebay tend to exclude those items from searches on the site that is local to the address... so issues only tend to become evident when buyers try searching Ebay sites that are designed to be remote from their location. However, many sellers don't use that feature, they just only set up postage costs for the areas they are happy to send items to.
Is true.. but as I've already explained, in that case Gixen won't be able to place a bid either.
What Gixen will do, is place bids on items that you can bid on directly on Ebay... even if the seller has not set up a shipping cost to that location. I think that's correct, Ebay has decided that such bids are valid, and accepts them, it's not really up to Gixen to exclude bids that are actually valid. In these cases, Ebay still allows the seller to specify the postage cost after the auction has completed and been sold to an address that they have not excluded... it's up to the buyer and seller to agree it, the seller to update the shipping cost resulting in a new invoice being sent to the buyer, after the auction completes. And then for the buyer to pay that revised invoice whatever it is. Having said that, I wouldn't ever advise anyone to bid on an auction for which they don't know the shipping cost to where they want it sent... personally, I'll always ask a seller how much they would charge before scheduling a bid on Gixen... just to avoid any possibility of future disagreements occurring, over which I have no real influence in getting a favourable outcome. |

| If a seller excludes the buyer's postal address, you cannot bid on that item normally. But gixen will still place a bid and then when you go to pay, ebay won't let you pay because \"The seller won't send to your address\" So I guess gixen doesn't check this before adding an item to the bid queue or placing a snipe? Obviously the user has to still add the item, but it's easy to miss the ebay postage warning. | |
