This seems like a reasonable candidate for a FAQ. Here's a draft proposal:

Q: I can log in to eBay, but for some reason, I can't log in to Gixen. What's wrong?

A: There are certain characters that Gixen will not accept in a username or password. Here is the list of characters you should avoid: ...

What about the other symbols? I think it would be more beneficial if you could post a comprehensive list of "taboo" characters. That way, I'd know exactly what to omit from my password generating algorithm. As it is now, it just get this error whenever I try to login to your site:
Quote:
Warning: pg_exec() [function.pg-exec]: Query failed: ERROR: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0xf79f6a70 in /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/gixen/home_main.php on line 198

Is there a way to have Gixon accept the $ character in the username. :?:

Hi there,

today, i recognized that passwords containing special chars, as $, although working with ebay, aren't accepted by gixen. After changen mine to a password without special chars, everything worked well.
Perhaps as PHP-Problem with those $-Chars?
