Yes it is unfortunate, but, I agree with Mario, entirely necessary for Gixen to operate that way.

When too many log ins are made without placing bids eBay have, in the past, taken actions that compromise the operation of the service for all users.

This work around appears to have limited that occurence in the past year or so.

Ed, sorry about that, but Gixen can't verify your username/password each time you log in, as that would require too many such requests with ebay and subsequently cause problems. Gixen keeps a hash of the last successful username/password combination, and if it matches your login to Gixen it assumes that your credentials are fine.

Obviously, this causes problems when you change your ebay username or password, and use the old credentials at Gixen.

I just missed a snipe. I have been using this service for a long time on multiple accounts without any problems, never missed anything.

I changed my ebay userID, and I was still able to log onto gixen and setup a snipe. Yet it didn't warn me that it can't log into ebay and my username or password is not valid.

I wish it would let me know. Doesn't it verify your userID and Password everytime you log onto ebay?

Oh well...
