Yes, we all make mistakes from time to time. However, if it is 2-3 minutes before the auction ends, and you change your mind and want to bid a higher amount, the best solution IMHO is to open ebay and add your manual snipe for the higher amount. You'll have plenty of time to do that.

Sure, that is the plan but we all make mistakes. For what it is worth, to whatever extent you do tweak your code from time to time, perhaps it would be possible to delay deleting the existing snipe until the user actually enters the changes and presses modify to confirm the change.

Such warning exists on the bottom of the screen. Plus scheduling or modifying a snipe is really not something anyone should do in a rush, that is in the last couple of minutes of the auction. One should know what his/her maximum bid is and schedule it early enough, otherwise you behave the same way as bidders that sniping is supposed to protect you from.

It seems as though if you select Modify on an existing snipe it immediately deletes the existing snipe so if for whatever reason you are close to the end time and don't get your modification entered soon enough the snipe does not go through. It would be good if there was a way to delay deleting the original snipe until the user modifies the amount and then selects modify again to confirm the change. Some warning should be made that changes made late could result in the entire snipe not being processed due to the original being deleted and then the new snipe being entered as a new snipe altogether.
