| The way eBay works is that users sunmit their highest bids but eBay does not display your full bid amount until it is outbid... it shows the amount that you will pay if no more bids are placed, that amount is one bid increment above the next highest bidder.
So eBay rarely shows the amount that a user has actually entered as their hoghest bid... Mario is correct and at one stage eBay will have displayed 20.50 as the auction price... as Mario points out, and I hope I have now explained, that is not the same as a bid amount which is what you are looking at. To work out what an auction price was at a certain time you need to not only look at the bid amounts but also the timing of the bids... To make it easier eBay allows you to turn on a different type of bid display which then shows what all the auction prices were, it is the 'Show automatic bids' link at the top of the bid list. |

| Wow, thanks for getting back to me so quickly! Maybe I'm still a bit new at this, after your response, I looked back but still couldn't find where gixen got 20.50. I didn't see any bid for that amount. Anyway, I'll see what happens going foward!
I no longer have the info on past bids, but it could have been my misunderstanding, perhaps. No worries..tis the season! Best |

| mgresia, actually it was 20.50, this was second highest bidder's current bid (not max bid, which is 20.99) before he was outbid by the winning bidder.
The current price is updated periodically, not real-time. It, however, has NO effect on sniping itself. This is not the reason why your bids were not placed. Please provide me with item ids (post here or email me) and I will find out what really happened. |

| I've used Gixen successfully a number of times. Lately, though, I see that it states the current bid as one thing, but it isn't right. It's not that it hasn't been refreshed. For ex, item #280598820589...gixen states the current bid as 20.50, yet it's 21.49, never having been 20.50! It went from 20.00, to 20.99 to 21.49. I've also noticed that it hasn't updated and therefore my bids weren't placed and I lost 2 other auctions. Any thoughts or advice?
