Might you be willing to fetch and display eBay's "My Note" for items on which I have a note? If it is easy and fast, it could be done automatically. But this need not happen all the time, or even automatically. Maybe have a button I can press to "Refresh My Notes" from eBay. I use notes on eBay to contain extra information about an item.
