If you are in the UK I would recommend setting both the country and more importantly the target to be the United Kingdom.
Not that should have affected he result this though.
I think it is most likely you were unlucky, as many as one in 300 will fail for various reasons like this on a single server (no mirror account), so as many as one in 300 people that are new will have a failure with their first attempt at a snipe... I guess, of those, most give up and try somewhere else, rather than investigate it further, as you have done.
If I were you, I would try again... with something you don't mind losing... if you would like someone to look into it further please supply the auction number. |

Network error 1, please help, thanks.
I just tried to use Gixen to see if a 'test' bid would work on an item that I didn't mind missing out on, I set it all last night but instead of placing a bid today, it states Network Error 1, no bids placed. So I'm worried this will happen again.
It was on ebay UK, approx 12.51 if that helps.
I could log in and set snipes, no error messages. Tbh, I don't use ebay much, and have a new account, so perhaps it is that?
I only really use the buy it now function as I'm not usually online when some auctions end so I haven't bid on anything recently. I thought I'd try gixen after reading reviews.
I set the country to UK ebay in the settings.
Was it just bad luck that my first bid/snipe didn't work, or are there more settings I should try?
thanks in advance |
