I’m new to Gixen but am excited by the possibilities and wish I would have found this sooner. I won my first auction and have become a Mirror subscriber. As far as using colors to glean some quick status info…

How about a break line between ENDED and ACTIVE (new feature), green if a winner (new feature).
All other coloring remains as is.

ENDED (WHITE/GRAY = LOST)
ENDED (GREEN = YOU WON) (new feature)
ENDED (WHITE/GRAY = LOST)
==================== (ENDED/ACTIVE BREAK LINE new feature)
ACTIVE (WHITE/GRAY)
ACTIVE (WHITE/GRAY)
ACTIVE (WHITE/GRAY)
ACTIVE (YELLOW, YOU ARE OUTBID)
ACTIVE (WHITE/GRAY)
ACTIVE (WHITE/GRAY)
ACTIVE (WHITE/GRAY)

or maybe instead of the single break line, you might prefer 2 headings...

[ENDED]
blaw blaw blaw (GREEN for winners)

[ACTIVE]
blaw blaw blaw (no color changes)

Sorry my mistake.

YELLOW would only be for BID NOT ENTERED.
Once you add a bid it would either be WHITE (valid) or ORANGE (too low).

The traffic light system makes sense with minor modifications to keep it in line with existing colour usage.

YELLOW - no bid entered or below min (as now)
WHITE - bid entered and above current bid (as now)
ORANGE - bid entered is BELOW current bid or bid increment

RED - Editing (as now)

Then AFTER the auction has ended...
PINK (actually a paler shade of RED) - you LOST
GREEN (a light shade) - you WON.

The lighter shades would easily identify auctions that have ended.

I realise that Gixen does not update auctions in real time so WHITE/ORANGE would not necessarily be up to date, but where you enter a bid a day or more in advance it should update sufficiently that you’d be warned a few hours before the end that your bid is now too low. ie pretty much as it does now but ORANGE brings more attention to it than reverting to YELLOW.

Your color scheme plan seems to imply a false assumption: that bids placed via gixen are tracked in real time at the gixen web interface. Which they are not.

Well, I can understand that changing the meaning of existing colors is not desired ... but ...

The color scheme I proposed was used by another (German) sniper (which still is no longer supported) and had a "logical" meaning
(like "Traffic lights").

White = blank = nothing defined

Green = you are on the secure side - at the moment. If nothing changes
you will win the auction

Yellow - Attention = though at the moment your bid is leading, you don't
know whether the max bid of the others will be higher
= pay attention!

Red - Alert! Warning! Other bids are higher. You must act!

Hello,

what do you think of this color scheme for Gixen DTM?

For active offers:

White - if I hadn't set any bid yet
Green - if I had set a bid and there is no other bidder
Yellow - there is/are other bidder(s), I had set a bid
which is higher than the current price
(But with still the risk that my max bid is not sufficient)
Red - my max bid is too low

Old auctions:

White - ended and I had not set any bid
Green - won the auction
Red - lost the autction

Thus I think, with a quick glance
you can see the status for your biddings
and if necessary act.
