bid not made - credit card required for acc verification

I scheduled a snipe on item no 230856993467. The bid was not made and I have received an error message of 'ebay error, ebay requires credit card for account verification'. I have spoken to ebay and they do not require any verification from me, my account details are all up to date. They hold a valid credit card on their records. Please can someone tell me why this has happened and let me know if it is likely to happen again if I use your service.

What Gixen does is the same as you would do with your browser on the eBay site that you specify as your target. So if an error of this type is reported by Gixen it is because eBay has prevented the bid with the message that you see.

So there seems to be an issue with your account with eBay that does not seem to affect others... if you do not usually bid on the target site that you have specified for Gixen to bid on for you (the default is eBay.com), then I would suggest trying to make some manual bids on that site and see if it comes up with the same issue... alternatively you could alter your target site here to the one that you usually use (if available).

I would think that if you do nothing at all then it is likely to happen again.

The 'knife' problem makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up for me. The item I wanted to bid on was a decorative cheese knife, so it would be reasonable for them to require confirmation of id to buy such an item. Thanks for your help.
