You can bid manually too, however if you place a bid at the amount you set in Gixen or more and you get there before Gixen does you effectively block Gixen from lacing that bid too.
Not a problem as you bid has been placed, but it might give you the impression that Gixen failed when in fact it was just your action that stopped it performing the task that you set it.
Ebay only allows an account to place bids once at a certain amount and never below an amount already accepted from that bidder.
I'm not sure why you think Gixen is so likely to fail that it causes you to contemplate doing the job yourself ?
