Having entered my details incorrectly I now receive the message:

Your account has been suspended for the following reason: Too many failed login attempts (10).

I read on here that this resets after 1hr, but in my case over 24hrs later, the suspension is still in place.

Can an admin please help?

Yes - I tried that, reset the password, but still get the error message.

In that case your best option is to email the details of your account direct to Mario at the support address given on the Contact page.

Always include your Gixen id in such communication and a brief explanation of the issue (but not passwords that you have tried, of course) and please give him a few days to get through to your request, it's a busy time of year for everyone.

I updated now the code so that suspensions for this reason (failed login attemt) expire after 5 minutes.

Suspensions are necessary to deter attacks, but 5 minutes is good enough for this purpose.
