Hi, I had sign up for a monthly renewal subscription, but I would like to cancel it and just sign up for a one time annual fee. Can you help me cancel the auto renewal? PayPal says the merchant ie. Gixen would have to do it. Thanks.

It's Paypal that sends the payment, so you should be able to cancel the recurring payment there.

Probably what Paypal were referring to is that once a payment is sent, if you want a refund then the recipient is the one that has to send that back to you. So, if it's just future payments you want to stop happening then Paypal is the place to do that...

However, if you do need a refund please contact Mario direct via email at the support address provided on the Contact page. In these cases please always include you Gixen id as well as details of when the payments were sent to Gixen.

Thanks Mark, but I think I cannot do it through PayPal because when I signed up for subscription, I did not log into PayPal but simply used my credit card through PayPal. Hence when I log into now, there are no active subscriptions in my PayPal account.

Are there any links on the Gixen Settings page for these payments ?

Usually, clicking on those takes you to where the payment is set up, so that you can alter the payment terms or cancel future payments.

If Mario is able to block the payments from coming on his side, the best way to ask him to do that would be via the support email address.. and I'm sure, if he's not able to do that, he will explain what you need to do.

In my Gixen account settings there is the subscription ID link for the subscription which brings me to PayPal. However when I click it PayPal returns an error when I login to view and says I can only view transactions that appear in my history log. Meaning there is no such transaction at all in my history since I didn?t login with my PayPal account when I made the payment (since I had used credit card directly).

It does seem odd that the only way for you to be able to cancel a recurring payment, that is not linked to a Paypal account, might be to cancel the card that it's linked to.

Has this card accepted several payments, one each month, or have you only just set this up, so we are yet to see if it recurs ?

Anyway, best to contact Mario direct, as I suggested above, and see if he can block/cancel the payments for you.

I think it makes sense if these payments, for short term Mirror subscriptions, are not recurring.

The idea being to provide the opportunity for users to try out the Mirror service without making any long term commitments, or where they already know that they only need that service for a very short period.

Totally agreed with you, I wouldn?t mind a trial month (reduced services) and then option for a year.
