Gixen currently lists the following as a disadvantage of online sniping services on the "Why snipe?" page:

From what I can tell, however, this is not / no longer true, because eBay allows authorization tokens nowadays, so you no longer need to share your account & password with Gixen (or, presumably, some other online sniping services).
So the rephrased disadvantage would be something along the lines of "you authorize a third-party service to place bids in your name" or something, but you no longer have to share your password. |
