After letting my Mac generate a password suitably complex, I wrote it down to enter if challenged. Sure enough, I was challenged in my first log-in attempt using Safari web browser on a Mac.
After getting the password wrong a half-dozen times, I copied it into Excel, changed the font to one with serifs, and enlarged the size so my bifocals could see it. My problem was that I had mistakenly been entering lower case L instead of the expected upper case I. The digit 1 could also have caused confusion.
Another potentially confusing pair would be the digit 0 and the upper case letter O. And unless your eyes are sharp, you might also confuse an upper case Q.
A serif font in the password dialog would speak to this issue. |
