I was the only bidder but my winning bid was $5 over starting price. Any reason it didn't win at starting price? |

Did you notice a 'Reserve Not Met' message on the auction page when you set up the snipe ?
It's not possible to see after the auction has completed, but that's usually the indication that the seller is not willing to accept bids at the opening price, and leads to the behaviour that you've witnessed here.
