Can I make an ebay bid and still snipe on the same item?

I'm sure this is probably a simple yes or no. I want to bid low on an ebay item to prevent someone else using the buyitnow feature, but I still want to snipe with gixen. Just wanted to verify that gixen will not bid against myself and will only snipe the item if someone else surpasses my original bid. Thanks!

Yes, I do that all the time... Gixen will place the bid in the last few seconds as usual, however because of the way eBay works you do not pay any more than you would otherwise need to.

In summary, eBay does not raise the price of an auction when you outbid yourself.
