|
|
Hi, this is my second time using Gixen and the first time I used it, it didn't work.
Here was what I did: I signed in, entered the item number (I cannot get the item number now as I do not know how) and typed a bid of $65.99.
Everything seemed okay at that point. About 3 hours before the bid ended, I decided to change my bid amount. So I pressed the edit button, but then changed my mind and left the bid the same. Then I clicked on the button to save it and refreshed the page (this was done using the Safari browser). I left my computer in sleep mode with both Gixen and eBay still open. The next morning I checked the auction only to realize that somebody else won the item for $52.00. My bid did not even show up. I didn't receive any error messages either.
Anyway, I'm going to try again with this item: 280973493429
and I would like to make sure nothing goes wrong this time. |

What was the item number of the first item? I can't see what happened without it. The second item I don't see entered into Gixen yet. |

For a few days after the auction has ended the snipe is still present when you log on to Gixen, the auction id is the first field in the snipe. _________________ Mark |

No, I don't see it. I only see my current auction. |

What was the status that Gixen gave this snipe after it had finished? _________________ Mark |

If it was more than 48 hours ago it would now have been deleted by Gixen.
If not, are you sure that you did not accidentally delete your snipe? _________________ Mark |

320985109885 ended with "BID UNDER ASKING PRICE" status. Item was sold for 360, your bid was under that. |

TheVisitor,
Unfortunately without that item number, it is now going to be difficult for Mario to see what happened. _________________ Mark |

Well, it may matter more to you than it does to me why the auction failed last time, but I am mostly concerned about my current auction. Was it done properly? |

For item number 280973493429 ?
So long as you can see the snipe for it when you log into the snipes page here, then it should be fine. There is no need to leave your computer on once the snipe has been submitted to Gixen. _________________ Mark |

Okay, so I finally figured it out. The reason it didn't bid was because my primary adress was set to Canada, but even though I had another adress for the USA, it did not place the bid since the item only shipped to the US. Wish I would have known this earlier because I lost another two bids for the same item which both sold for about $100. The same item for $50 is hard to come across. |

Yes, this is a known problem with eBay, they use your registration address not your shipping address when deciding to block bids when the seller sets the option to block bids from countries that they do not ship to.
The only way round this is to contact the seller and have them remove the restriction on your bidding. _________________ Mark |
