EE34856 - when i try to enter this item number, it says ' could not add this item'. I'm a brand new user and not familiar with this site. I've tried to add 2 items and it's given me that message on both. What am I doing wrong?

In that field you need to enter the Ebay item number, it is on the auction page on the right, just below where it says 'Description' it is always a twelve digit number, it never contains other characters.
