The reason of your failed bid should be listed under your snipe when you login to the sniper. |

Yes, i know that! It said 'AUCTION ENDED EARLY OR SNIPE LATE.
Well, it didn't end early & WHY use Gixen if they snipe late??????
I'm baffled |

Because Gixen can't tell the difference between the two... and it does happen that Gixen is late occasionally, unless mirror was used. |

Just to be clear there is not a deliberate policy to be late occasionally, each Gixen server does its best to place a bid... however if you don't have a Mirror subscription you only have one server working for you... either server could have this failure and occasionally do, it is however much less likely that both will fail to place a bid on the same item at the same time because they are located in different places and use different pathways on the internet to access eBay.
It is however possible the eBay itself can have a problem at certain times and can not accept bids for a short while, that is a very rare occurrence but if it happens there is nothing that Gixen (or any other sniping software) can do to place the bid. _________________ Mark |

This exact same thing just happened to me on item 230685200557! I could have just placed the bid myself and won. It said "AUCTION ENDED EARLY OR SNIPE LATE" but the snipe has been sitting there for like 2 or 3 days, and I watched the auction end, and someone else win it. What a waste... |

KristelPippi,
It's irrelevant really how much ahead you scheduled your snipe. I keep repeating that snipes do occasionally fail, and this is a result of the nature of the internet protocols. Gixen places 20,000 (or so) of snipes every day, and I can pretty much guarantee that it will be late for at least 20. Or to put it differently - for every 250 auctions Gixen wins, one will be late.
It looks like a small probability that one particular snipe will be late, but this happens nevertheless. Gixen mirror service practically eliminates this uncertainty. |

If your snipes are failing, I strongly suggest paying for the mirror service. I've done so for a number of years and it's the best thing since sliced bread! Thank you Gixen! |
